Los Angeles, CA (October 10, 2024) – Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE) is proud to announce a new partnership with the Los Angeles Business Council Institute (LABCi) to help small, diverse, and disadvantaged businesses access contracting opportunities for major global events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This collaboration aligns with Mayor Karen Bass’ ProcureLA initiative, aimed at providing local businesses with resources to compete for these opportunities.
LABCi serves as the research arm of the Los Angeles Business Council (LABC), which is recognized as one of California’s most influential business voices and focuses on innovative public policy that strengthens the economy while improving quality of life.
Through this partnership with LABCi, PACE will integrate its diverse supplier network into LABCi’s Compete4LA platform, the region’s largest database of small, diverse, and disadvantaged suppliers. This will provide businesses with direct access to contracting opportunities related to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other major events. Additionally, both organizations will collaborate to identify small businesses in key sectors and connect them to PACE’s business development centers, equipping them with the certifications, skills, and knowledge needed to compete for contracts.
PACE will also offer targeted services in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Thai, Armenian, and Tagalog, ensuring that the diverse communities of Los Angeles are fully supported in navigating the complex procurement landscape.
“Our mission at PACE has always been to ensure that the small businesses in our communities have the tools and resources they need to thrive,” said Kerry Doi, CEO of PACE. “This collaboration is crucial to ensuring that small, diverse, and disadvantaged businesses are not left behind. Through our new partnership with LABCi, we are expanding our ability to empower local entrepreneurs by connecting them to vital opportunities and creating sustainable economic growth for underserved communities across Los Angeles.”
