Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE)

PACE Workforce Development

Since 1976, PACE’s Downtown/Pico Union WorkSource Center has offered job seekers and employers integrated and comprehensive services including counseling, training and placement by partnering with community based organizations, government agencies, colleges, schools, unions, and employers of all sizes. Job seekers can access technology and communication tools; veterans and seniors receive customized services; and representatives of government agencies provide counseling on welfare-to-work opportunities and unemployment benefits.

A pioneer in building a skilled Green Jobs workforce for weatherization and installation of photo-voltaic and solar thermal systems, PACE also provides job training programs both on-site and in collaboration with local community and technical colleges.

Employment Services

PACE’s Downtown/Pico Union WorkSource Center provides employment and training services to job seekers at no cost. We connect job seekers to employers and trainers and provide access to Veteran transition services, a career resource library, workshops, virtual and on-site interviews with local employers, job leads, resource referrals and access to computers and other office equipment.

Job seekers can search for employment and create resumes and cover letters in our computer lab.  We have several computers that are ready for job searching. Resume wizards are also available for easy access to resume templates, in addition to a variety of products designed to assist job seekers in finding employment and increasing basic skills to enhance their competitiveness in the labor market. Keyboarding and basic computer classes are offered at no cost and taught by trained counselors.

PACE Downtown/Pico Union WorkSource Center provides a wide range of services to businesses from recruitment & screening to layoff assistance  through the EWDD Rapid Response Team to help securing federal tax credits. We also assist with posting job openings into CalJOBs; information on Earned Income Tax Credits and Empowerment Zones; assistance with pre-screening potential employees and conducting on-site recruitments; provision of Labor Market Information; and advice and consultation to small businesses about microenterprise training.

PACE has teamed up with the Los Angeles Public Library by opening a small satellite office at the Central Public Library in Downtown LA. The Central Library Job Portal serves as a mini-WorkSource Center for job seekers at the library while giving a glimpse at the WorkSource Centers throughout Los Angeles.
