Kerry Doi

Bio
Kerry Doi is the Founder, President & CEO of PACE, one of the largest Asian-led community development corporations (CDCs) in the United States. Annually, PACE serves more than 40,000 low-income ethnic minority residents from across LA County through Employment, Business Development, Affordable Housing, Energy & Environmental Services, and Early Childhood Education. Mr. Doi oversees an operating budget in excess of $28 million and 300+ staff.
Mr. Doi’s outstanding abilities in the field of community development are evidenced not only by his accomplishments at PACE, but by his extensive involvement and leadership in numerous local, state and national community development organizations. Locally, he is a Board Member of the Los Angeles Housing Partnership and the California Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA). On the national level, Kerry was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans. Additionally, Kerry is a founding member and the former chair of the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD). Mr. Doi also recently served on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors Consumer Advisory Council. Most recently, Mr. Doi was appointed by Supervisor Hilda Solis to serve on the LA County Small Business Commission. Notable appointments in the Energy and Environmental field include serving as a Member on the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council for the Environmental Protection Agency and as a Member on the Environmental Justice Advisory Board for the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
He received his B.S. from California State University, Long Beach. In 2008, Mr. Doi completed the prestigious Achieving Excellence in Community Development Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Doi was honored by Los Angeles public television station KCET in 2009 as a “Local Hero” and has received awards and recognition for his outstanding community service from the Los Angeles City Council, former LA Mayor Richard Riordan, Senator Richard Polanco and Assemblyman Gilbert Cedillo.

Kyong (Grace) Choi
Controller
Bio
Kyong Choi is the Controller for PACE and is responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. She is dedicated to leading PACE’s finance operations, assessing the financial efficacy of program operations, and establishing finance systems to support program operations.
Kyong has been with PACE since 2009, where she started as the Fiscal Officer responsible for monthly reports, accounting, budgets and other required reports for Community Services & Development programs. Prior to working at PACE, she worked in various roles within the accounting industry across the Los Angeles region.
Kyong is a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a major in Accountancy.

Bo Sivanunsakul
VP of Economic Development
Bio
Bo Sivanunsakul joined PACE in 2017 with a strong background in financial service and community economic development. As PACE’s Director of Business, Bo spearheads PACE Business programming and manages a team that works closely with entrepreneurs and small business owners in the greater Los Angeles area to improve their social and economic well-being through business counseling, procurement technical assistance, training, loan and grant programs. Bo also directs all of PACE’s microloan and small business loan programs to ensure clients’ needs are met.

Kellie Konysky

Kellie Konysky is the Director for the Education Division of Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE) located in Los Angeles that serves over 1,000 children and families in its Head Start and Early Head Start programs. She has been with the PACE organization since July 2007, where she started as the Nutrition Coordinator of the Education Division until April 2015 when she became the Director. In the role of Director, Kellie provides direct oversight and implementation of the Head Start/Early Head Start contract provided by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) grantee.
Kellie also works with local, state and national organizations to advocate for and bring supplemental resources to PACE’s under-served communities. She is the Board Chair and Conference Co-Chair for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Roundtable as well as the Treasurer and a Board Member at Large on the National Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Forum.
Kellie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foods and Nutrition with an emphasis in Dietetics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She also completed her year-long dietetic internship through Cal Poly Pomona. Kellie is an accredited Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Johnson Ng
Director of Employment

For the past 35 years, Johnson has worked in the employment and training sector assisting customers with job training, placement and counseling for career path development. With over 3 decades of experience managing a variety of federally funded workforce investment programs with successful performance outcomes, he has a thorough understanding of Federal workforce development legislation.
As Director of PACE’s WorkSource Center, Johnson oversees the regional implementation of President Obama’s 2014 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). A native of Hong Kong, Johnson immigrated to the US in 1968 and holds a BA in Psychology from U.C. Santa Barbara.

Carol Wu
VP of Business & Lending

Carol Wu is a seasoned finance and banking professional with over two decades of experience in commercial real estate lending, portfolio management, and credit analysis. With a strong background in underwriting, risk assessment, and client relationship management, she has successfully managed multimillion-dollar loan portfolios throughout her career.
Most recently, Carol served as Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Pacific Premier Banking Corporation, where she managed over $250 million bridge and construction loan portfolio, ensuring regulatory compliance, financial analysis, and portfolio growth. Her expertise includes structuring new loan originations, overseeing risk ratings, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize lending strategies.
Prior, Carol served in leadership positions at Cathay Bank and East West Bank, managing portfolios exceeding $200 million in commercial real estate and construction loans. She played vital roles in enhancing credit risk analysis processes and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance, further strengthening her expertise in the industry.
Carol holds a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from San Diego State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The Ohio State University. Fluent in English and Mandarin, she brings a multicultural perspective to the financial industry, enabling her to serve a diverse client base effectively.

Sandra Sakamoto

Bio
Sandy Sakamoto joined the PACE Board of Directors in 2005 and currently serves as Board Chairperson. She is a Partner at LimNexus, specializing in real estate and business transactions; energy purchasing; telecommunications and utility law; public rights-of-way; and commercial litigation. Prior to joining LimNexus, she was General Attorney and Assistant General Counsel at AT&T where she oversaw the Los Angeles Legal Department. Ms. Sakamoto brings expertise in Nonprofit Board Management, serving as Co-Chair, Executive Advisory Council for Asian Americans Advancing Justice and as the Former Board Chair and current Board Member of the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center. Ms. Sakamoto received her B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Utah, her M.S.A. in Business Administration and Management from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Loyola Marymount University.

Hon. Jon Mayeda (Ret.)

Hon. Jon Mayeda (Ret.) serves as PACE Board of Directors Secretary. Prior to his 26 years of distinguished service on the Los Angeles Superior and Municipal Courts, he was a deputy attorney in both the civil and criminal law branches of the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney. During his most recent 13 years on the bench (1994 – 2007), including his ten years as a civil “fast track” trial judge, he heard a broad range of civil litigation. Judge Mayeda brings expertise in mediation, law, employment, insurance, and healthcare. He is a Founding Member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles County; Member of the California Judges’ Association; Member of the California Asian Judges Association; Member of the State Bar of California; and Member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Judge Mayeda received his B.A. in Business and Psychology from the University of Redlands and his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.

Neil Yoneji

Neil Yoneji joined the PACE Board in 2006, bringing extensive experience in Finance, Management, Education and Operations. He is the former Vice President for Administration & Finance of Mount St. Mary’s College (MSMC). Prior to joining MSMC, he served as Chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District, California’s largest community college district encompassing 9 colleges, 6,000 employees, 100,000 students and a budget of $350 million. He also served as the Executive Director of Orange County Head Start, the county’s largest child and family service program. Mr. Yoneji received his B.A. degree in Chemistry from Simpson College of Iowa and his M.S. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
