PACE, DOE, and MBDA Unite for the 2024 MBE Connect Summit

As the operator of the Los Angeles Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Center, PACE is thrilled to be joining forces with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and host the 2024 MBE Connect Summit on April 17th-18th.

The event will bridge the gap between minority and disadvantaged business enterprises (MBEs) and a wealth of opportunities within the DOE Program Offices, National Labs, federal agencies, financial institutions, and nonprofit organizations. At the heart of this summit lies the vision for an equitable, clean energy future and the building of lasting, productive relationships that will make it a reality.

Central to our discussions will be the $400 billion in contract opportunities available to MBEs and other disadvantaged businesses. Over the past year, the DOE Office of Energy Justice and Equity has spearheaded a vital shift toward addressing the climate crisis through equity-centered solutions. These solutions aim to ensure that underserved and overburdened communities—particularly those on the front lines of climate change—receive the support and resources they need to thrive in the face of climate challenges.

The MBE Connect Summit will feature twelve speakers and seven panels with topics ranging from federal, state, local, and private contract opportunities to access to capital and subcontractor recruitment strategies. These topics are designed to be an in-depth exploration into the intricacies of working with key players who are at the forefront of historic federal investments in clean energy and communities.

Through this summit, we hope to provide a platform for valuable insights and meaningful connections that will shape the future of clean energy and drive more equitable economic opportunities for all.
