PACE Empowers L.A. Residents with Free Water Bill Assistance

PACE staff attending CalCAPA's LA Water Assistance Event

Water is a fundamental need, but the burden of high water bills can be overwhelming for many Los Angeles residents experiencing financial hardship. That’s why PACE was proud to participate in CalCAPA’s LA Water Assistance Event to directly assist community members and families with their utility expenses. The one-day event was held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and brought together local LIHWAP service providers to extend a helping hand to qualifying households in paying their past or current water bills.

PACE’s Energy Director, Celia Andrade, speaks to KTLA 5 about the LIHWAP program.

The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program, or LIHWAP, is a federally-funded program that offers one-time support to help low-income households pay their current or outstanding residential water and sewer bills. As a proud LIHWAP service provider, PACE offers up to $15,000 in water bill assistance.

We’re thankful to CalCAPA for organizing a wonderful event that allowed us to strengthen our bonds with the community and help our fellow Los Angeles residents manage their water bills. If you were unable to make it, PACE’s Energy Department offers free, year-round utility bill assistance and is accepting LIHWAP applications now until December 31, 2023. Visit our Energy page to download an application or come to our office at 1055 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 900E to receive one in person. Be sure to check if your water utility provider is covered by PACE’s service area, and feel free to contact us at (213) 989-3177 for questions about LIHWAP or any of our other Energy programs!
