PACE Early Childhood Education (ECE) recognizes the value of active learning experiences and developmentally appropriate activities to help children achieve their full potential. The design of PACE’s Education Service Area is based on the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework. The Education Service Area’s organizational structure supports a system that executes a high quality, educational program that ensures School Readiness and success.

PACE ECE utilizes the HighScope curriculum, as approved by governing bodies, to promote School Readiness. High Scope was chosen above all others because it is an “active learning” educational approach that provides students with direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, events, and ideas. High Scope allows children to construct knowledge through interactions with people and the world around them.  The curriculum is “child-initiated”, meaning that children take the first step in the learning process by choosing to explore and investigate topics of interest to them.  Teachers and parents compliment the learning process by providing physical, emotional and intellectual support and by challenging children’s thinking through nurturing interactions.
